Our educational activity

The life in a lboratory

The Life in a laboratory is a little different from the way of learning that you have experienced from elementary school to your third year of college. Up until now, you have learned knowledge from lectures and textbooks, and have tried to get the right answers through academic tests. However, even though research activities have a purpose, it is not so easy to obtain the correct answer in many cases. It is not too much to say that in many cases there is no such thing as a correct answer.

In research, more emphasis is placed on the process of trying to find the answer. In other words, the process of research is “to obtain the world's unique result by using an original method for the research objective that you have set for yourself.

Of course, in practice, we refer to reference books worthy of textbooks and academic papers by researchers around the world, but the results do not always lead to a single correct answer. I believe that research activities are a process of thinking through these processes in one's own way and arriving at one's own results. Of course, one's own results must be supported by evidence that is accepted by researchers around the world. In this way, research activities are continuously advanced.

In the laboratory life, you will have opportunities to discuss with many students, not only faculty members but also senior and junior students. This is one of the important elements of research. By discussing with many people, you can not only get advice from them, but also get your own ideas together. I believe that this series of skills is one of the skills you will need after graduating from university. While the purpose of laboratory life is to graduate from university, it is also training to become a member of society.

The faculty members of the Center welcome students who wish to pursue graduate school research in the areas of the Center's research interests. Faculty members are involved in teaching in the Department of Information and Communication Engineering of the Graduate School of Information Science and Technology of the University. Students who wish to apply for graduate school are required to take the graduate school entrance examination for the Department of Information and Communication Engineering, regardless of whether they are internal or external to the university, so please check the university's website.

Students from other universities are also welcome to apply to the laboratories covered by this center. Interested students are always welcome to contact us.

Space Communication

Communication technology with satellites and earth base stations and operation of their facilities.

Space and Earth Environment Observation

Comprehensive observation of the space and earth environment using electromagnetic waves will contribute to the elucidation of the origins of natural phenomena and the application of newly obtained knowledge to disaster prevention technology.

Electromagnetic Environment Measurement

We measure the electromagnetic environment in the living area where people live comfortably and reduce human damage through advanced numerical simulation.
